TCA Aircraft Testing Department. Jet/ turboprop/ large prop aircraft test report: Date of Report: May 11, 1998 Tested by: Marco Pacagnella # 2459 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION A: (Original FSFS aircraft details.) a) Aircraft name: TCA B777-222B "Spirit of TCA" b) Aircraft registration: PJ-7772 c) Aircraft Filename: TCA-777B.ZIP ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION B: (FS98 only aircraft file details.) a) Aircraft name: b) File name: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION C: (Criteria Tested) 1) Endurance (range)NM: 5300 nm @ FL310/M.84 2) Take-off distance(metres): 1650m Landing distance(metres): 500m (30% fuel), 800 (100% fuel) 3) Rotation speed (Vr)(KIAS): a) Educated guess: 155 KIAS b) Calculated: 147 KIAS 4) Climb: Best climb speed (KIAS/fpm): Initial Climb 1000fpm (5° flap passing trough 180 KIAS) until reaching 220 KIAS (retract flaps) then climb 2000 fpm @ 250 KIAS until FL100 after this set 290 KIAS and 1000 fpm and keep them to FL310 and set M.84 for cruise. As airplane get lighter climb to FL390 for lower consumption (max cruise speed M.89 but I suggest no more than M.84/.86) 5) Overspeed clacker sounds at(at cruise altitude)Mach number or KIAS: No overspeed Warning found within reasonable speed range 6) Behavior under AP(OK/Not OK). a) Speed AP. OK b) Altitude AP. OK c) Heading AP. OK d) NAV1 AP. OK e) Back course AP. ? f) Approach AP. OK g) Autoland N/A 7) Speed @ 80% N1, FL300 (Mach number or KIAS). M.72 (variable with weight) 8) % N1 at recommended economic cruise speed: 91% at M.84 (variable: set AP Mach) 9) Stall speed (KIAS). a) 100% fuel: Clean/Dirty 128/113 KIAS b) 30% fuel: Clean/Dirty 97/87 KIAS 10) Approach speed at 30% fuel(KIAS): 123 KIAS 11) Turns AP ON - (OK/Not OK): a) Level turns. OK b) Climbing turns. OK c) Descending turns. OK 12) Turns AP OFF - (OK/Not OK): a) Level turns. OK b) Climbing turns. OK c) Descending turns. OK 13) Landing speed(KIAS): a) 30% fuel: 123 KIAS b) 15% fuel: 118 KIAS 14) Take-off with some engines out of service: I tested a "1 engine failure"(E-1-Ctrl+Shift+F1) at 140 KIAS: Full rudder on 'live-engine-foot' and lift off at 160 KIAS: 5° flap and climb at 800 fpm (no more or you'll never speed-up!) The airplane tastes heavy until reaching 200 KIAS: here autopilot was tested in all its function: also ILS approach works fine with one engine out (note yaw !); landing was easy: Reverse on live engine and opposite rudder ('dead-engine-foot' this time) to keep centerline. Cut reverse under 95 KIAS because of rudder airspeed loss. :-) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION D: NOTES/COMMENTS: 1) Visual look is...just great (as other Project freeware planes). Pleasant to fly, it is my favourite Long range TCA plane. 2) The text file (very poor in tecninal datas) doesn't have notices about Vr, Stall speeds, Cruise speed, so I tested real 777 ones, and they seems good. 3) I use a very good 777 panel (by Stefano Caporelli and Eric Ernst). It looks like the real one ! You can find the link to authors' page at Mr Static-panel&sound page at TCA (777scee3.zip).
